GRC (Glassfibre reinforced concrete/cement). Precast concrete reinforced with fiberglass for the formation of industrialized construction systems

In PREHORQUISA we are specialists in the production of precasted GRC offering our customers different systems; among others, we highlight.

  • GRC Sandwich Panel:
    • GRC panels with EPS lightening core (expanded polystyrene)
    • Thickness: 10 mm GRC sheet + 80-100 mm EPS + 10 mm sheet.
    • Maximum approximate dimensions of 5,000×3,000 mm and approximate weight of 60 and 80 kg/m2
  • GRC Studframe Panel:
    • Stiffened GRC panels with metallic tubular frame
    • Thickness: 10 mm GRC sheet + 20/30 mm spacing + 80 mm frame
    • Maximum approximate dimensions of 9,000×3,000 mm and approximate weight of 45 and 65 kg/m²

GRC type facades

GRC Sandwich Panel

Sandwich GRC panels for the formation of the main sheet of the facade anchored to the main structure of the building, will require a complete lining and insulation.

Thickness: 10 mm GRC sheet + 80-100 mm EPS + 10 mm sheet.

GRC Studframe Panel

GRF Studframe panels for the formation of the main sheet of the façade anchored to the main structure of the building, will require complete lining and insulation.

Thickness: 10 mm GRC sheet + 30 mm separation + 80 mm frame.

Process in precasted GRC

Generally, the phases of the production process are as follows:

  • Development by our technicians of the prefabrication project based on the instructions collected from the work, making exploded drawings, details of encounters and anchors, three-dimensional models, calculation memory, …

  • Execution (based on agreed term) of the number of molds necessary for the consequence of the objective.

  • Projected of the different layers of the panels, compaction of them and placement of embedments (the process is variable depending on the type of panel to be manufactured).

  • Removal of the precasted to the collection sites, where they will be given the final treatment, as well as the corresponding cosmetics.

  • On-site transport on supports that protect the precast panels.

  • Assembly with the help of auxiliary cranes for the handling of the precasted.

GRC precasted finishes

The aesthetic characteristics of precast concrete are determined by two factors: tone or color and texture. These are achieved through a combination of the following factors:

  • CONCRETE: white or gray.
  • ADDITIVES, COLORANTS: pigments, water-repellents, etc.
  • TEXTURE: smooth, embossed (pitted, pannilla…), fretwork, special formwork in wood or with elastomeric matrices, photoengraving, etc.
  • FINISHES: out of mold, glazes, water repellents, etc.

For more detailed information on the specific processes of each type of panel, you can request the GRC Technical Report with the description of the production process by contacting us.

Note: We do not have standard products or solutions, because our way of working is based on adapting to the requirements and needs of each specific project, so it will always be necessary a specific study of each project and a fluid relationship with designers and technicians for the development of each work.
