The Board of Directors of the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación E.P.E (CDTI) has granted a partially reimbursable aid to the company PREHORQUI, S.A. The CDTI is providing this amount for the R&D project entitled “Free-form precast sustainable GRC panel with 3D printed mold, with thickness mapping system by calibration-scanning”.
For the realization of this project, PREHORQUISA has the collaboration of Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectos de Madrid (ETSAM-UPM) as public research center and with the company IO3-SOLUCIONES, S.L.
The development of this project arises from the need to adapt to the new stage that the construction sector is going through, the so-called Construction 4.0, whose main pillars are the incorporation of emerging additive manufacturing technologies and the industrialization of processes.
Thus, the overall objective of the project is to obtain a novel manufacturing method for GRC panels with low environmental impact that maximizes their performance through the design and development of a new mold printing solution, as well as a novel calibration control system that allows the elimination of imperfections in the manufacturing process.
